I was a PC gamer, with a crappy Alienware gaming laptop with hardware from the previous decade and then I discovered Ethereum and realized you could mine it. Mining Ethereum with GPUs, graphics cards, enabled me to build my dream gaming PC, which would hopefully pay itself off, and it did, more than 5 times over. Then I started buying and building GPU miners, I quickly ran out of electricity and space so I customized a shed to be my own personal GPU mining farm. I didn’t have any investors or much money, so I maxed out my credit cards in order to have enough funds to build a sizable GPU mining farm, with over 100 graphics cards mining Ethereum, Zcash, Zencash ZEN horizen (hate that coin now), among many other GPU mineable cryptocurrencies. Ethereum has completed the merge, and the merge truly killed GPU mining as everyone who was paying attention at all expected, there are a couple interesting coins you can still mine, like Ravencoin but investing thousands and tens of thousands of dollars to make a couple cents a day mining RVN just seems like a terrible investment — this GPU mining addiction was insane, but it seems like GPU mining may not bring anyone, any more highs, literally and figuratively, moving forward…
